Protesting employees getting all legitimate privileges: PTCL

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has said the protesting employees are getting all legitimate perks and privileges, as per the provisions of their contracts.
In addition to that, the Company had given them a reasonable raise recently in salaries, and was ready to facilitate them further. An official spokesperson of the Company said, some workers are spreading misleading information to the media.
He further added that after the privatization of the Company, the new management provided all the necessary technical training to these NCPG employees to bring them in mainstream. It provided technical training through its internal technical training program to all its employees and were adjusted in different departments.
At the same time, PTCL is planning to offer better job opportunities through internal recruitment to all NCPG employees. He said major rehabilitation program is going on with the company. PTCL never wanted to layoff any of its employees.
It extended raise of 15% on gross salaries, which is equivalent to 40 % on basic salary to NCPG employees. He said this raise is more than the agreement terms while the management is providing all the necessary benefits i.e. medical coverage etc.
After the privatization of PTCL the new management of provided all the necessary technical training to these employees to bring them in mainstream. Workers demand to be regularized and should be provided with government pay scale cannot be met since PTCL, as a company policy, cannot regularize the contractual employees.
He said the management strongly believes, “We work together as one team to satisfy customer requirements in telecommunication services and technology in a friendly and efficient manner”.
