Cop killed in Swat

MINGORA—A police official was killed and three injured when some warriors attacked a police party during search operation in Kabal area here on Friday. The law enforcers also arrested 36 suspects including two women from Kotlai, Zora, Dagai, and other adjacent villages. Police official Fazle Malik was killed in the cross firing while sub inspector Mahir Khan, Sepoy Muhammad Ali and Abdul Bari sustained critical wounds when their vehicle was hit by rocket fired by the militants. The injured have been shifted to Saidu Sharif hospital and admitted. The police party came under fire while conducting search operation in village Zorra, which was retaliated by the law enforcers. The police sources said, the warriors managed to flee from scene. Meanwhile the local people burnt three houses owned by Naseeb Rawan, Ibrahim and Sultan Ali. According to SHO Kabal Police Station, the arrested women were released after preliminary investigations. The police had imposed curfew in areas from Kanju to Kabal from 5 a.m. to 1.30 pm Friday during the search operation and all then entry and exit points were closed.
