ITP impounds 60 vans for incompletion of routes

ISLAMABAD—Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) impounded 60 vehicles and fined 1808 public transport vehicles for incompletion of their respective routes during this month (April).
Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Zubair Hashmi, while reviewing special report submitted by the Special Squads constituted for checking of route completion, said that strict action will be taken against those transporters violating traffic routes.
The SSP said that ITP is utilizing all resources to facilitate the general public and not only issuing traffic violation tickets to the PSVs for over charging, misbehavior of driver/conductor and incompletion of route but also canceling the driving license of the PSVs drivers who found repeatedly involved in same violation.
A special squad has already been constituted to check the route violation and Traffic Help Line - 915 was established to resolve the public grievance well in time where every citizen can complain on the help line round the clock.
On the complaint of citizens, 1808 vehicles were issued traffic violation tickets for incompletion of their respective routes and impounded 60 PSVs for the same violation.
The PSVs of routes 1, 1-C, 3, 21, 105, 111, 115, 120, 121, 122, 124 and 127 were impounded on the complaints of citizens for incompletion of their respective routes.
