Alfalah Frontier Open Golf from May 2

PESHAWAR—The 18th edition of the Bank Alfalah Frontier Open Golf
Championship will commence over 54-holes from May 2 here at PAF Golf
Course.
This was stated by Station Commander Brig. Muzaffar Ali Khan, Chairman
of the Executive Committee of the Frontier Golf Association soon after
attended the meeting of the organizing committee held here at Station
Headquarters on Monday.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary of the Frontier Golf
Association Mehmood Aziz, Major Arshad, Advisor of General Ashfaq Pervez
Kiyani, Chief of Army Staff and President of the Pakistan Golf
Federation, Treasurers Umar Arbab, Ex-national champion Dr. Soni Wali
and representative of the Bank Alfalah, the sponsor of the Championship.
Brig. Muzaffar, who recently toured with Pakistan Golf team to
Bangladesh, said that the meeting discussed in detail the preparations
done for the smooth organization of the Championship.
The meeting also hailed the services of President of the Frontier Golf
Association Lt. Gen. Muhammad Masood Aslam, Commander 11 Corps, for the
taking keen interest in the promotion of golf in the NWFP in particular
and in the country in general. He said with the strong supports of the
President, the FGA is working hard to have more activities for the youth
in order to involve them in healthy sports activities.
He said that like last year, the President directed to hold free
coaching for cadies, young children and girls in particular to
popularize the game in the province. He said, Major Arshad, Advisor to
the President of the PGF General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani, on behalf has
assured that PGF to send a qualified coach to train and coaching the
upcoming youngsters.
About the Championship, it opens to Amateurs HCP 0-12 and Professionals
with stroke play (scratch) over 54 holes, cut for Professional after 36
holes under PGF rules with best 30 and ties will play the last round.
In Subsidiary Matches HCB 13-18 over 18 holes, Boys (U-18 and U-15),
Ladies, Seniors Amateurs, Seniors Professionals with Rs. 100,000 for
those make Hole-in-One while Rs. 3,000 cash for the Professionals and Rs.
50,000 for Professional Veterans besides attractive trophies for the
