table judges’ resolution if govt fails: Shujaat
Bureau Report
LAHORE—The former ruling party PML-Q will move resolution against the
government if it failed to resolve the crises of judiciary. Talking to
reporters at a press conference along with Mushahid Hussain, Chaudhry
Shujaat Hussain Sunday said if the government failed to resolve the
crisis of judiciary, his party would table resolution against the
government in the house.
President of the Q league Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said his party will
also table a resolution to resolve the issue of deposed judges’
restoration if the government fails to do so. He said the judges’ matter
has become a political issue now . . . and the government must resolve
it. Shujaat said the opposition providing opportunity to the parties
with people’s mandate to resolve the problems. The PML-Q chairman denied
presence of the forward block in ranks of his party.
The coalition government has failed to fulfil any one of its promises
during the last one month. PML-Q President Ch.Shujaat Hussain and
General Secretary Mushahid Hussain said this while addressing a joint
press conference here on Sunday. They were of the view that increase in
prices during last one month is more than the collective hike of last
five years.
Ch. Shujaat said that the issue of judges was being politicised
otherwise there was no constitutional problem in this regard. He said
that the ruling coalition should fulfil its promise regarding the issue
of judges otherwise PML-Q would bring a resolution on it in the
parliament. Shujaat said it seems that ruling coalition will split even
before PML-Q’s assessment adding that PML-N is looking for excuses to
part ways with the coalition.
To a question, he said that present and previous democratic systems in
the country had flaws. Shujaat also rejected the impression of existence
of any forward block in PML-Q. He said that PML-Q has not yet decided to
support the ruling coalition to withdraw power of the president to
dissolve assemblies.
Ch.Shujaat Hussain said that present government is presenting concocted
facts and figures before the nation to accuse previous government. He
also criticised the present government of taking credit of programmes
initiated by the previous government for development and public welfare. |
