Petition against judges resolution rejected

ISLAMABAD—Islamabad High Court (IHC) after preliminary short hearing has dismissed the petition filed against the steps for possible reinstatement of deposed judges declaring it non maintainable.
Constitutional petition was filed by Moulvi Iqbal Haider advocate chief of Pakistan Awami Hamayat Tehreek pleading that issue of restoration of judges can not be put into debate in the parliament under article 199 of the constitution. The petition also said parliamentarians were going to table resolution in regard to reinstatement of judges. Making the speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly (NA), and law secretary respondents, Moulvi Iqbal Haider took the stand the judges restoration issue can not be moved to parliament for debate as per constitution. Therefore, federal court should restrain NA speaker from presenting the resolution in NA and in case her failure to do so, she should be disqualified.
