Labour Minister for resolution of grievances of working class on priority

Islamabad—Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Minister for Labour Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis has said that the peasant and workers are the main constituency of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF), headed by Mr. Khursheed Ahmed, Secretary General (PWF) who called on him here on Thursday. The Minister said any person working in industry, construction, field or the home workers not only earn their livelihood honestly, but for the employer also. However it is a fact that this is a neglected class.
He admitted that the country is facing crucial period. It is just the mercy of the God that the country is surviving. Now we have to run the affairs of the country with the mutual trust. Being a politician, he said, we know the problems of common man. To come out from the trouble, he sought the help of laborers of the country. Continuing his statement, he said that the government knows that the working class has enormous problems. We whole-heartedly want to solve each of them, but it would take time.
Talib Nawaz, President PWF assured help of the working class for continuity of democracy in the country. He said that the foremost problem being faced by the Pakistanis is the price hike particularly of the kitchen items. He demanded that the Labour Department should get the minimum wages implanted by the employers.
Khurshid Ahmed, Secretary General PWF emphasized implementation of minimum wages, omission of section 27B from the Banking Companies Ordinance, regulation working times in the Banks and restoration of inspection system.
Referring repeal of IRO 2002, Zahoor Awan, Deputy General Secretary, PWF has said that there were many positive provisions in the IRO 2002 and those should be retained.
The Minister assured them to resolve all their grievances including strict implementation of minimum wages and restoration of inspection system. He also assured that while repealing IRO 2002, all its positive points would be retained. He directed the officials of the Ministry to take up the issue regarding working time of the banks with the State Bank of Pakistan, omission of section 27B from the BCO with Ministry of Finance and grievance of workers of NPB with its President.
