Five killed as vehicle plunges into deep ravine

MANSEHRA—Five persons were killed when a vehicle plunged into a deep ravine at Pattan area in Kohistan district here Wednesday morning. According to police, a vehicle bearing registration No. 3870 of Telecommunication Northern Area (TNC) carrying employees of the organization was skidded off the road while negotiating a sharp turn and plunged into a deep ravine near Indus River. The three dead were identified as Bahadar Zaib s/o Abdul Qadir, Farhan Ullah s/o Siraj and Amir Akbar while the names of others could not be ascertained so far. After receiving information of the accident, police and local people of the area rushed to the site and started rescue activities. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital. It is said that TCN employees were going to Gilgit from Peshawar when the ill-fated vehicle met the accident.
