Chinese FM due on 25th

BEIJING—Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will visit Pakistan from April 25-26. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Salman Bashir while talking to APP said that this would the first visit of Yang Jiechi to Pakistan after assuming the office as Chinese Foreign Minister.
Ambassador Salman Bashir who held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister the other day said that during his visit Yang Jiechi will call on President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi and political leadership of Pakistan. The Chinese Foreign Minister to also review the talks held in Beijing during President Musharraf’s visit to China.
He said that President Pervez Musharraf and Chinese President Hu Jintao have established very close relationship and these ties were further strengthen during the recently concluded 6-day state visit of President Musharraf to China. Ambassador Salman Bashir said it is also the follow-up of the meeting held between the Presidents of the two countries in Sanya in which it was agreed to implement various decisions on fast track.
He said that the enhancement of close trade interaction is the mile stone of the strategic partnership of Pakistan and China. The Ambassador said that China has been extending cooperation to Pakistan in resolving its energy crisis adding that Pak-China power projects in private sector will play an important role to address the energy problem.—APP
