Earth Day observed

ISLAMABAD—Earth Day was observed in all nationwide campuses of Roots School System including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Mirpur, Wah and Muzaffarabad. The slogan was “Earth day is Every day” and the main objective was to inculcate love and care for the mother Earth. The interesting and the vibrant event spanned over the whole week. The day started with beautiful morning assembly presentation in which children delivered speeches and performed as nvironmentalists. The teachers prepared small skits and quiz programme based on Earth, this activity started at the beginning of the week, as Roots School System tends to provide the basic information on Earth to its students. Roots School System is involved in a week of activities that were student action oriented. Ideally, these activities provided them with a means to act on their convictions. Most importantly these activities also provided a progressive model which can make Earth Day activities part of the schedule all year long. The students had different activities including contests for poster, T-shirt, bookmark, and stationary designs, student poetry, essays and speeches on environment.
