10 of a family killed in road mishap

SHEIKHUPURA—Ten persons were killed and 20 others sustained injuries when a wagon collided with a truck near Sharqpur bypass here on Sunday. According to DSP Saddar Shahzada Tariq, wagon no (LET- 1416) carrying a family from Sadaat colony, Lahore was on way to Hafizabad when its tie-rod dislocated near Sharqpur bypass as a result it collided with the truck no (SB-1512) and overturned. Six persons died on the spot while four others succumbed to their injuries of which two here at DHQ hospital and two on their way to Lahore.
Those killed were identified as Muqadas (5), Muhammad Tariq, Bashiran Bibi, bashir Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Muhammad Ashraf, Shero Bibi, Salma Bibi, Sakina Bibi and an unidentified woman. The injured include Bakhtawar, Faqir Muhammad, Chand, Kausar, Shahmim, Abida, Tania, Shah Muhammad, Nazia, Babar Ali, Mahnaz, Tanveer, Naveed, Parveen, Ishrat, Mansha, Mohsin, Shah and Fatima.
Bhiki police shifted 15 injured to DHQ hospital, however, four seriously injured were referred to Lahore due to their precarious condition. DSP said the ill-fated family was going to Hafizabad for an engagement ceremony.—Agencies
