Jamali pays tribute to NWFPHA office-bearers

PESHAWAR—President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali paid glorious tributes to the office-bearers of NWFP Hockey Association saying that they were the valuable asset for the promotion of the sport in the Province.
In his letter addressed to the Secretary of the NWFP Hockey Association Syed Zahir Shah, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali conveyed his appreciation on meticulous organization of the Departmental and Final Rounds of the National Hockey Championship in the Provincial Capital.
He said: “I am proud as President of the PHF and thanked the partners for working for the promotion of the hockey in the country in general and in NWFP in particular.”
The office-bearers including Chairman of the NWFP Hockey Association Muhammad Saeed Khan and you (Syed Zahir Shah) had really worked very hard for the successful staging of this National Premiere event in a manner par-excellent, he added.
Ex-Premier Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said that the NWFP in the past rendered great services for the promotion of hockey in the country by organizing more than 64 international matches besides it (the association) considered as very active member of the PHF regarding hosting National Juniors, National Seniors Hockey Championships on so many times.
It was for the first time a complete and comprehensive record of the Championship was complied, in a booklet form, Jamali said. Such compilation would certainly help the statisticians and the sports journalists, tremendously. Jamali hoped that the other would also follow the same by adopted the standard set by the NWFP Hockey Association in future.
Syed Zahir Shah while commenting thanked Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali for hailing the association. He assured PHF chief that the association would continue its work for the promotion of hockey by holding national and international tournaments.—Agencies
