Strict directives issued to stop wheat, rice, pulses smuggling

ISLAMABAD—Pakistani border security forces have been given short-term authority for combating smuggling of rice, pulses and wheat to neighboring countries including Afghanistan. According to a private news channel, FBR in its handout said that SRO 330 has been amended for checking smuggling of rice, pulses, wheat and items made of wheat to Afghanistan and other countries.
This amendment in SRO empowered the FC in NWFP and Baluchistan and Rangers in Punjab and Sindh for arresting smuggling of these items.
It further said that these powers would rest with them until May 15.—Online
