Kaira invites Canadian investment for promoting tourism, trade

Islamabad—The Canadian High Commissioner Mr. David B. Collins paid a courtesy call on the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Northern Areas and Information Technology Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira here today and discussed with him matters pertaining to promoting bilateral cooperation in diversified fields between the two countries.
Welcoming the Canadian High Commissioner the Minister said that both countries were enjoying very cordial and deep-rooted friendly relations in economic and trade fields, which were growing and expanding with the passage of time. He, however, said there exists a lot of potential for promoting these mutually beneficial relations in various walks of life with a view to bring the two countries closer.
The Minister said that northern parts of this country were rich of beautiful places with range of high mountains attracting large number of tourists across the world every year. He invited the Canadian investment for promoting tourism and trade industry in this hilly part of the country and assured all out cooperation in this regard.
Mr. Kaira expressed gratitude to the Canadian government for providing generous help for the reconstruction and rehabilitation activities in earthquake affected areas of AJK & NWFP.
The Canadian High Commissioner Mr. David B. Collins felicitated Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira on assuming the portfolio of the Ministries of Kashmir Affairs and Information Technology. He said that Canadian investors would continue to benefit from the tremendous investment opportunities existed in diversified fields for mutual advantages.
Later, Member of European Parliament Mr. Sajjad Karim also called on the Federal Minister for KANA.
He said that Pakistanis community living in European countries was playing a significant role for progress and prosperity of their motherland.
