Forward block emerges in PML-Q

ISLAMABAD—Members of PML-Q likeminded group Kashmala Tariq and Riaz Fatiana have rejected to acknowledge Faisal Saleh Hayat as their Parliamentary Leader and boycotted Parliamentary meeting of PML-Q. According to details, PML-Q Parliamentary meeting was held in the Parliament House before the National Assembly Session with Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat in the chair. MQM Parliamentarians also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, member of the likeminded group in PML-Q, Kashmala Tariq has raised objection on the nomination of Faisal Saleh Hayat as their Parliamentary Leader. Kashmala said that when she sought notification from Faisal Saleh Hayat, he misbehaved with her. As a result we have boycotted from the meeting.
Riaz Fatiana while speaking to the journalists blamed PML-Q leadership for distributing all the offices in Punjab. He said that if the Leader of Opposition is from Punjab then Parliamentary Leader must be from another province. He further said that likeminded group in PML-Q enjoys support of 30 parliamentarians.
Meanwhile, soon after the PML-Q Parliamentary meeting, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain has said that he would not blame anybody and all the matters would be raised in the meeting to be held on Monday. PML-Q Parliamentarian, Sheikh Waqas accused that likeminded group consists of those members who did not vote for Chaudhry Pervez Elahi for PM slot.
The women Parliamentarian of PML-Q, Kashmala Tariq has stressed PML-Q to nominate its Parliamentary leader from smaller Province, rather than Punjab. While talking to media after the NA session on Thursday, alongwith MNA Riaz Fatiana, she said that such an action would cater for a more active role of PML-Q in opposition, and would also encourage smaller provinces.
She stoutly refuted that there was any forward block of PML-Q in opposition; but that would nevertheless not deter anybody from voicing one’s opinion with freedom, she vowed, announcing that due to wrong and imprudent policies a like-minded group has also surfaced in Punjab, which would sooner boast more than 30 members.
She termed the forthcoming few days as of utmost importance, with some very important decisions in the offing, and while replying to a question termed PML-Q as a National Party and any move to convert it into a Provincial party would be severely resisted. Replying to a question, she said that democracy within PML-Q needed to be strengthened, without which the role of an effective would be meaningless, while Riaz Fatiana also termed the coming few days as most important.
Central Leader PML-Q Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain on Thursday underlined that we will oppose any impeachment against President Musharraf adding we will not support Government on Restoration of Judges issue.
While talking to host of Journalists, Central Leader PML-Q Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain said that there is no Forward Bloc nor Like Minded Group within PML-Q.—Agencies
