Arbab Rahim challenges inclusion of his name in ECL

ISLAMABAD—Former chief minister Sindh Arbab Ghulam Rahim has filed writ petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against placement of his name in ECL seeking court orders for exclusion of his name. Arbab Rahim through his counsel Ahmad Raza Kasuri had submitted two constitutional petitions in IHC against inclusion of his name in ECL where by he had taken the stand he was chief of a tribe in Sindh and was supporter of human rights , therefore, the people honored him. He alleged interior minister Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza had paid money to some professional killers to kill him in order to take revenge of an enmity adding his name had been included in ECL so that he could be killed. He further pleaded he was not wanted by any court in any case, therefore, placing his name on ECL was in conflict with article 15 of the constitution. He prayed the court to order the government to strike off his name from the ECL.
