Punjab Cabinet takes oath today

LAHORE—The 16-member Punjab Cabinet would be taking its oath today, Thursday. The 16 ministers include 6 from PML-N, 6 from PPPP, one from PML-F, and one from MMA, while earlier one PPPP member Riaz Ahmad has already taken his oath alongwith CM Punjab, and party sources have informed that he would be granted the protocols of a senior minister.
A total of 35 members are expected to be inducted in the Punjab Cabinet out of which 22 would belong from PML-N, while the rest 13 would belong from PPPP. Among those taking oath from PPPP include Tanveer Ashraf Kiara, Ashraf Sonha, Farooq Yousaf Gharki, and others; while from the allocated seats for women, Uzma Bukhari and Mussarat Ijaz-Ul-Hasaan would be taking oath. Those from PML-N would include Nadeem Kamran, Ahmad Ali Olakh, Shafiq Anwar, Zeb-Ul-Rehman, Shahzadi Umar Daraz Tiwana, while PML-F would be represented by Ahmad Mahmood and MMA by Ali Haider Noor. In the initial phase of Cabinet forming PML-N has not included any independent candidates who joined party ranks after winning their constituencies.
