Pakistan Trade Delegation to Poland, Czech Republic in May

ISLAMABAD—Federation of Pakistan Chambers, Commerce and Industry(FPCCI) is sending a high level trade delegation to Czech Republic and Poland, led by its president Tanvir Ahmad Sheikh from 4 - 9 May 2008.
The delegation consisting leading businessmen and industrialist including 5 office bearers of FPCCI will visit Czech Republic on 5-6 May and Poland on 8-9 May, Express TV reported. The purpose of delegation is to hold Joint Business Councils Meetings with the National Chambers of Commerce & Industry of the Czech Republic and Poland to discuss the proposals and suggestions for promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations. Czech Republic and Poland newly members of the European Union are emerging market of Eastern Europe offering great opportunities which need to be tapped through aggressive and persistent marketing. Yearly import of Poland alone is $124 billion wherein Pakistan share is negligible.
According to survey the coal available in Pakistan and Poland is similar to each other in terms of quality. The delegation will also explore the possibility of transfer of technology in the field of energy. The sectors to be represented in the visit include textile, cotton, woven fabrics, leather and leather products, rice, edible oil, seeds, electrical items, glassware, industrial chemical and plastic raw material, furniture & pottery, plastic pipes, auto parts, packaging material.—APP
