No compromise
on judiciary issue: Shahbaz
SANGLA HILL—President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Former Chief
Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that the ruling alliance is
committed for reinstatement of deposed judges who refused to take oath
under PCO, elimination of dictatorship, supremacy of law and sustainable
democracy in the country.
PML-N would not comprise on its pledges with the nation, he said this
while talking to a delegation led by President PML-N Labour Wing Nankana
Sahib Irfan-ul-Hassan here on Sunday.
The nation cannot tolerate those people who are trying to create anarchy
and chaos in the country, he said, adding that, the honest and dedicated
officers are respectable for us but corrupt and dishonest officers would
be held accountable.
Expressing satisfaction over establishment of government in four
provinces, the President PML-N added that his Party came into power for
development of the country and welfare of the nation. He asked that
nation to cooperate with newly elected government for prosperity of the
country, as the ruling alliance of PML-N, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)
and Awami National Party (ANP) is in supreme national interest.
Those who are trying to create differences among ruling alliance would
be failed in their nefarious design, he said, added, the rule of one
individual and dictator can not run in the country. The incumbent
government would make legislation for the basic rights of masses,
Shahbaz maintained. All the minorities in the country would have equal
rights. He paid tribute to Quaid PML-N and Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali
Zardari for their efforts to get rid of dictatorship.
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Farooq H. Naek reiterating firm
commitment of the government to resolve the issue of judges in line with
the Murree Declaration said there was no difference between Pakistan
Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in this
regard.
Talking to Voice of America, the Minister said reinstatement of deposed
judges is protected in the accord reached between the two parties on
March 9 this year.Similarly, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has
also gave assurance on the day of oath-taking at floor of the National
Assembly that “we will abide by the terms of Murree Declaration,” and
issued orders for the release of judges, he added.—Online
