Monitors deployed at flour mills in Capital

ISLAMABAD—Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has deployed its staff at the 36 flour mills to monitor the supply and distribution of atta in the market.
Six vigilance teams consisting of magistrates are regulating the supply through atta dealers. Moreover nine atta sale point have also been set up in Islamabad to facilitate the consumers, the ICT spokesman said. He said Chief Commissioner, Islamabad also Hamid Ali Khan assured the citizens that all available resources would be utilized to ensure the availability of 20 Kg bags in the market at the control rate of Rs. 300.
No one would be allowed to create artificial shortage of Atta in Islamabad and those indulging in black marketing would not be spared. The Chief Commissioner has also directed district food controller ICT to improve the supply of atta in the market and further enhance the vigilance, he added.
There is no shortage of normal flour in NWFP as adequate wheat is being supplied to flour mills of the province, Minister for Local Government Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said Sunday.
Talking to private TV channel 'Express News' he admitted the shortage of 'fine flour' used by Tandoorwalas (Nanbies) in the province.Efforts are underway to overcome the shortage of fine flour in the province. He said the provincial government has taken up the issue with Punjab government and soon the situation would eased out.Punjab authorities are being persuaded not to stop NWFP bound trucks loaded with wheat or flour.
Also harvesting of wheat in Punjab is due next week.The wheat harvesting in Sindh has already started.There should be no ban on the movement of wheat,he added. Lashing out at the previous provincial government he said they had closed down several flour mills and used to supply only40 sacks of wheat to each mill against the need of 350 sacks dailyof each flour mill.
