Thai exhibition to boost Pak, Thai Trade: President ICCI

ISLAMABAD—President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi, said that holding of Thai exhibition will prove a milestone for further accelerating trade between Pakistan and Thailand.
Talking to a delegation of Thai Trade Center, Dhaka (TTCD) led by Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Ms.Usa Wijaruran, the President ICCI informed that Thailand is arranging an Exhibition at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi from April 25 to 27.
The President ICCI said that Thai products are famous in Pakistan, and Thai exhibition shall provide a good opportunity to Thailand exporters to introduce their products in the Pakistan's market. He said that balance of trade is in the favour of Thailand, and the overall trade does not reflect the true potential that exists in the two countries.
He said that establishment of Thai-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok in 2005, is a milestone in the history of economic for strengthening the economic relations, which is playing an active role to boost the trade and economic activities between Pakistan and Thailand.
Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi stressed for investment cooperation in the areas of information technology, telecommunications, construction, automobile parts, food processing, fisheries, agriculture, hotel industry and real estate.
He said that Pakistan provides lucrative investment incentives, thus Thailand investors can extend expertise in these areas for closer cooperation. President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that a delegation of Islamabad Chamber shall also visit Thailand to explore business opportunities. He said that Pakistan should also hold a single country exhibition in Thailand to introduce Pakistani products in the Thai market, which will help boost the two way trade.
Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Ms.Usa Wijaruran during the meeting said that in the exhibition, chemical, construction materials, hardware and machinery, food and beverages, health & beauty, leather and footwear products shall be displayed.
She said that holding of the exhibition is the part of continuous efforts, for enhancing trade activities and strengthening economic relations with Pakistan.
She said that Thai Trade Center is working to enhance Thailand's exports and considers Pakistan an important destination for Thai products. Minister Conunsellor said that Thailand is producing quality products, which are famous around the world. She added that exhibition shall provide an excellent opportunity to the Thai exporters to introduce their products in the Pakistan's markets.
She invited members of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce to visit the exhibition and develop trade linkage with the Thai businessmen.
She added that Thailand can serve as a gateway to Pakistani exporters and manufacturers to enter into ASEAN countries and to enjoy the ASEAN trade agreement benefits.
