Rains forecast over upper parts of country

ISLAMABAD—Meteorological Department forecast scattered dust thunderstorm
and rain in Upper and Southern Punjab between April 15 to 17.
An official of Met office told that Westerly Weather System is likely to
effect the upper parts of the country from April 14. He told that
prevailing westerly wave over Upperparts of the country may persist for
another 36 hours while scattered thunderstorm rain is expected in Upper
Punjab including Islamabad till tonight.
In Upper NWFP, rain and thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of
during next 36 hours. While heavy rain associated with snowfall is
likely at many places in Upper parts of the province during next week.
While isolated thundershowers is expected over other parts of NWFP
during the period. In Kashmir, Northern Areas including quake affected
areas, thunderstorm rain is expected at scattered places during next 36
hours. Heavy rainassociated with snowfall is expected at many places
between April 14 to April 18. Heavy Rains may causelandslides and
avalanches in some areas.
Isolated dust thunderstorm and rain is likely over Northern Balochistan.
While gusty winds may cause widespread lifted dust storm during April 16
to April 18. In Sindh, dry weather is expected over the most parts of
the Province. However, gusty winds and suspended dust at few places may
be possible between April 16 to 18.
The maximum temperature recorded in main cities was Islamabad 28 (C),
Lahore 34, Karachi 32 , Peshawar 27,Quetta 26 , Murree 17, Muzaffarabad
26 and the highest maximum temperature was recorded 42 (C) in Nawabshah.
The minimum temperature was recorded Islamabad 16(C), Lahore 20, Karachi
24, Peshawar 15, Quetta 10, Murree 08, Muzaffarabad 14 (C) while the
lowest minimum temperature was recorded 4 (C) in Kalam.
The rainfall recorded in last 24 hours wasKotli 23 mm, Kohat 11,
Peshawar 14, Bannu 12, Malam Jabba 10, Rawalpindi and Islamabad 06 mm. |
