Azeri envoy calls on Soomro

ISLAMABAD—Dr. Eynulla Madatli, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan called on the Acting President Mohammedmian Soomro here and discussed ways and mean to further promote and strengthen the existing bilateral ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The Acting President said Pakistan values close brotherly relations with Azerbaijan which are based on shared history, faith and culture. He lauded Azerbaijan's economic growth and observed it became possible as its leadership pursued such policies that enabled its tremendous economic growth. Soomro underlined the need to give a boost to the economic and traderelations, saying there existed vast potential in this regard.
The Azeri envoy informed the Acting President that the fourth session of the Pakistan Azerbaijan Joint Ministerial Commission was held in Islamabad in February 2007 and the 5th session of the Pak - Azeri JMC is likely to be held in Baku this year. He hoped that the 5th session of JMC would help provide excellentmechanism to explore new economic avenues and enhance bilateral trade.
He thanked the Pakistan Government for providing training facilities to the Azeri diplomats at the Foreign Service Academy and hoped that such interactions would further forge close ties between the two countries. Later, a delegation from London Borough Waltham Forest led by Mayor Councilor, Liaquat Ali called on the Acting President. The leader of the delegation lauded the services rendered byMohammedmian Soomro for the country. He told the Acting President that the visited of the delegation was aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
