President warns lawyers of spreading anarchy
eulogizes multi-faceted ties with China
ISLAMABAD/BEIJING—President Pervez Musharraf warning lawyers to refrain
from spreading anarchy said that the Karachi violence incidents appears
to be backlash of manhandling incidents of Ghulam Arbab Rahim and Sher
Afgan Niazi, Talking to reporters at airport before embarking on a six
day visit to China President Musharraf said that the lawyers community
should refrain from spreading lawless ness in the country adding that no
one would be allowed to create a law and order situation in the country.
“There should be a civilized behaviour, law and order should be
maintained and anarchy should not be spread in the country”, he said The
President is accompanied by the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi,
Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar, Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr
Atta ur Rehman, Chairman Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the
Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Akram Sheikh. He said that the
latest spate of violent incidents in Karachi and against Ghulam Arbab
Rahim and Sher Afgan Niazi are condemnable and undemocratic. “Whosoever
started it, I strongly condemn it”, the President said and asked “Is it
a way of a civilized society?” On the first leg of his tour to China
President would visit Sanya where he will hold talks with President Hu
Jintao. Various agreements/MoUs are expected to be signed at Sanya to
give an impetus to bilateral cooperation.
The President would also attend the BOAO Forum for Asia where he will be
a keynote speaker. The theme for this year’s Forum is “GREEN ASIA:
Moving Towards Win-Win Through Changes”. The President will be meeting
the world leaders attending the BOAO Forum including the President of
Sri Lanka, Prime Ministers of Australia and Kazakhstan. In Beijing, the
President will hold talks with Premier Wen Jiabao, Mr. Wu Bangguo,
Chairman of National Congress, Mr. Jia Qinglin, Chairman of Chinese
People’s Political Consultative Conference. The President would also
visit the Tsinghua University, which has been a cradle of learning for
top Chinese leadership.
The last leg of the visit will take the President to Urumqi, the capital
of Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China that borders Pakistan. The
President will meet with Xinjiang leadership and discuss prospects of
increased cooperation between Xinjiang region and our Northern Areas and
North West Frontier Province.
President Pervez Musharraf has said Pakistan had a multi-faceted
strategy to fight terrorism and extremism in the country. In an
interview with Xinhua news agency before the start of his 6-day state
visit to China, President Musharraf said the multi-faceted strategy
