Hoti secures trust vote

PESHAWAR—Chief Minister of NWFP Amir Haider Khan Hoti won vote of
confidence of the NWFP assembly as 111 members of the house voted for
him. Addressing the house after the vote of confidence Amir Haider Hoti
thanked the members of the house for their confidence on him and the
democratic government. He said it is the confidence over the struggle of
lawyers and political workers.
Hoti said he is not the chief minister but servant of the people. He
condemned violent incidents in Karachi and demanded stern punishment to
the people involved in the violence adding that conspiracies hatched
against the democratic system would be foiled. He said the province is
facing the problem of law and order and internal security adding that
“NWFP is not the land of terrorists but it is the land of peace and
peace-loving people,” he said. He added that we have been pushed into
the war of others.
He said that the war that started from Waziristan has been spread to the
entire country. He said that maintaining law and order in the country
would be his top priority. He said a grand Jirga constituting of
political parties would be formed to settle all problems through
dialogue not force.
