Strategy chalked out to ensure Atta availability
Chief Commissioner tours various markets

ISLAMABAD—Vigilance teams consisting of magistrates remained active on
Thursday in the city and rural areas of Islamabad to ensure the smooth
supply of Atta and its availability at the control rate in the markets.
The staff deployed by the ICT administration at 36 flour mills of the
Capital also checked the record of daily wheat quota of Islamabad, it’s
grinding by the mills and further distributions through Atta dealers in
the markets, under the supervision of magistrates.
Magistrates also conducted visits of markets and confirmed the Atta
supply quantity from the retailers while ensuring availability of Atta
at the control rate in the markets and at various sale points. District
Food Controller, Islamabad informed that additional supply of Atta was
also carried out through 6 mobile trucks on Thursday. It is pertinent to
mention here that 26000 Atta bags were supplied in the markets of the
Capital, here on Thursday. He also warned the Atta dealers to ensure
sufficient supply in the markets, failing which their licenses would be
suspended. Meanwhile, Chief Commissioner Islamabad; Hamid Ali Khan
informed that ICT administration has chalked out a comprehensive
strategy to ensure sufficient availability of Atta at the control rate.
Anyone found involved in black marketing or smuggling of Atta will be
dealt with iron hand, he warned.
Chief Commissioner Islamabad has also started checking arrangement of
Atta availability in the markets. He would conduct visits in the markets
on Friday. |
