IGP lauds role of NWFP police

PESHAWAR—NWFP Inspector General of Police, Malik Naveed Khan said Tuesday the frontier police has stood up against every test of the time particularly of the last three years challenges in a brave manner. While giving briefing on NWFP Police to a group of 45 probationary officers of the 35th common training of Civil Services Academy, Lahore here at CPO, the police chief informed that no other police force of any part of the world come under such unabated stress and pressure as the frontier police came in during the last three years. “The Frontier Police has done a tremendous job by facing the volatile situation with extreme brave and professional manner. Despite all odds and difficulties, the Frontier Police delivered with high morale and we are proud of our police performance in such turmoil.” During last year 2007, he said additional police force were added, CID has been revamped and special branch has been strengthen and got additional 9000 AK-74s and 1000 G-3s rifles. —Online
