Medium-term budget framework being reviewed: Dar

ISLAMABAD—The government was mulling over the 'medium-term budget framework' for the next federal budget-2008-09.
Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar told newsmen here that the decision to go ahead with the medium-term budget framework or otherwise has not yet been taken. He said that Pakistan's non-development expenditures during the current fiscal year have shot up to Rs1475 billion and the widening of tax-net has become inevitable for the achievement of economic targets. He further said that FBR has assured him that the revenue collection of Rs100 billion would be achieved during the current fiscal year.
Ishaq Dar said that the government was framing such financial policies that could provide relief to the people and ensure judicious distribution of wealth.—Agencies
