skills
By Khalid Amin
ISLAMABAD—Etisalat Academy and PTCL have jointly embarked upon a
project, namely “PTCL Training & Development Functional & Operational
Restructuring Project.
According to a press release issued from PTCL, the objective of the
project is to improve PTCL’s training and development of it human
resources and bring it at par with Etisalat’s high quality standards.
A dedicated project team, comprising members from PTCL and the Etisalat
Academy (EA) will work together on this Training & Development revamping
project, which will be led by Dr. Kamal Salih, Project Manager, Etisalat
Academy, Dubai.
The project team will review the resources available at PTCL’s training
centers, identify gaps and then devise a strategy to completely revamp
these institutions.
The project kick-off took place last month in Islamabad in which all
members of the team introduced themselves. Dr. Kamal Salih elaborated
upon the objectives of the project, which were to identify and measure
the potential of PTCL’s Training and Development institutions, including
infrastructure, equipment and staff with a view to transform the
training function so that it is geared to effectively achieve the human
resource development targets and business objectives.
Key members of the project team visited PTCL’s training institutes in
Islamabad, Haripur, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan last week to assess
their potential. The next stage will be to review the observations,
gathered through interviews of the teaching staff posted in these
locations, and devise a plan to make the training institutes effective
agents of change in order to create well-trained, customer-focused
employees who are motivated to go the extra mile for the customer, as
the company sees satisfied customers as its ultimate goal. |
