Recent surge in transport fares did not change transporters' attitude
ISLAMABAD—The recent increase in transport fares has intensified the
problems of common man but has not changed the behavior of the drivers
and conductors with the commuters.
It has been observed that the problems related to not completing the
routes and misbehavior with the passengers are continuing unabatedly.
Ahmed Sheeraz Saeed, traveling daily in wagon route no 21 and 23
complained that although the fares have increased immensely but the
habit of not completing the routes are continued by the drivers.
He underlined that he has to spend extra Rs 8 as most of the drivers and
conductors not completing their routes after sunset and misbehave with
him when he ask them to complete the route. Adil Arshad, another
commuter while pointing out the problems facing by the passengers
underlined that the public transport pick the passenger at every stop
but hesitate to drop them except the stops. The public and social
circles while expressing concern over the situation demanded the
authorities concerned to also take measure to improve the behavior of
the public transporters.
