US TPS-77 radars inducted in PAF

KARACHI—Pakistan Air Force has acquired TPS-77 radars from M/s Lockheed Martin, USA. These radars incorporate the state of the art technology and belong to the latest generation.
The esteemed induction ceremony to formally handover the system to Pakistan Air Force was held on Modnay at one of the Air Force Bases in Karachi.
Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest on the occasoin. The ceremony was also attended by the Senior Officials from United States Government and M/s Lockheed Martin, USA. Among the other attendees were the Principal Staff Officers from Air Headquarters and senior officials from Pakistan Air Force.
During his address the Chief Guest highlighted that the occasion marks yet another important milestone in PAF’s modernization plan which would give a tremendous boost to PAF’s existing Integrated Air Defence Network. He also stressed upon the Air Defence operators and the technical staff to excel in their professionalism and strive for making Pakistan Air Force second to none. He mentioned the long-term strategic relationship between Pakistan and United States Air Forces and desired for the continuation of support for Pakistan Air Force to further modernize its capabilities.
TPS-77 radars are the only radars developed in the world till date which have the unique capability to provide valley coverage and long range detection capabilities. With the induction of these systems, Pakistan will have the capability to curb the drug traffickers’ unrestricted movement into the borders from its neighboring countries.
