SME are backbone of economy: Khaqan

ISLAMABAD—The Federal Minister for Commerce Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the small and medium enterprises (SME) are the backbone of the economy.
The federal minister for commerce Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while talking to the chambers of commerce and industries in his office on Monday.
A nine-member delegation of Pindi chamber of commerce and Industry met with the minister for commerce in his office.
The president of the pindi chamber of commerce Abdur Rauf chaudhri greeted him on being the federal minister for commerce. The president told the minister regarding the problems being faced by the pindi chamber. The delegation told the minister that the chambers should be involved in the trade policy formulation. It was suggested that some technical institutes might be constituted in Rawalpindi region to overcome the dearth of technical labour that are being hired from far-flung areas. They also suggested for the conversion of Rawat Industrial zone into Export processing zone.
