Quality education must to serve country Ummah: Soomro

ISLAMABAD—Chairman Senate Mohammad Mian Soomro on Monday stressed the the need of quality education for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah and Pakistan. Chairman Senate Mohammad Mian Soomro expressed these views as Chief Guest in 6th Convocation of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held on Monday at the Jinnah Convention Centre.
Degrees were conferred upon 1265 (Twelve hundred & Sixty Five) male and female students on the occasion. He said that we are in an age of competition and by inquiring latest Knowledge we can live an honourable life in the comity of the nations. Soomro added that although we are proud of our past glory but at the same time we should work for our future generations. He also lauded the role of the International Islamic University which started its journey by just 13 students in 1980 and it has now 12500 students.
Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) in his speech said that the University was specifically established to fulfil the dreams of the Muslim Ummah and we would like to assure that we would try our best to achieve these aspirations. This University has to serve as a role model of modern learning and research without any distinction between the secular and the sacred. Dr. Manzoor added that foreign visitors as well as intellectuals have started changing their perceptions about the International Islamic University and are recognizing its academic excellence and its potential for a rational dialogue.
