Abstract landscapes go on display
ISLAMABAD—Nomad Art gallery has opened an exhibition of the exquisite
abstract landscapes by the Swedish artist, Ubaid Syed.
More than 24 items have been put on display with the medium of acrylic
on canvas titled “After the Rain” which illustrate vibrant integration
of colour and passion. Ubaid’s current work is a series of paintings
depicting strong images of the Swedish landscapes, particularly the
scenic beauty of the ocean.
The artist has captured his surroundings on canvas in bright colours
with proper use of light in his works while he has taken nature as
inspiration in a variety of forms, light and depth of colours consisting
of harmoniously juxtaposed discrete parts. About the work, the artist
says that “It is a struggle for imaginative freedom and spontaneity
against norms and orders.” The artist has used mixed-media, acrylics,
oil and tempera on canvas as a medium representing reality in concrete
forms while he has also exhibited in solo shows at home and abroad.
