Ministers resign
NEW DELHI—Six Ministers of Congress Party resigned on Sunday ahead of
cabinet reshuffle expected on Sunday evening.
According to an announcement made on Sunday, among those who tendered
resignation were Ministers of State Suresh Pachouri (Personnel), Dasari
Narayan Rao (Coal), M V Rajasekharan (Planning), T Subbarami Reddy
(Mines), Akhilesh Das (Steel) and Manikrao Gavit (Home).
According to media reports new faces are likely to be inducted in the
cabinet including Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasada of Congress and
Raghunath Jha of RJD.
Pachouri, who is expected to be appointed as chief of Congress in Madhya
Pradesh ahead of assembly polls there later this year, and Rajasekharan
resigned on the expiry of their terms in Rajya Sabha.—Agencies |
