Govt to provide shelter to Govt employees: Kakar

Islamabad—Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Rahamatullah Kakar attended a briefing at the Committee Room of the Ministry of Housing and Workds here today. The briefing was given by Samiul Haq Khiljee, Managing Director, Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) on the role, functions, objectives vision, organization and progress made in its various completed housing projects in various cities of the country.
Secretary Housing & Works, Abdul Rauf Chaudhry, Joint Secretary Abid Ali, Engineering Advisor, Saleem Iqbal and other senior officials of the Ministry and PHA were also present during the briefing. The Managing Director of the PHA informed the Federal Minster that 37000 apartments will be built in the four provinces and Islamabad for low-paid Federal Government employees.
The Managing Director also briefed the Minister about the acquisition of 234 acres of land in Kuri Road for yet another housing scheme to be launched shortly by the PHA for officers of PBS-17-22 in Islamabad.
Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Rehmatullah Kakar after attending the briefing, said that the government is responsible to provide shelter to every homeless citizen of this country. He said that the government is aware about the chronic shortage of housing in the country. He directed authorities of PHA for early launching of the housing scheme for low-paid government employees and officers of various occupational groups. The Minister assured his cooperation and support to PHA authorities for early launching and execution of the Housing Scheme.
