Ban on Zakat disbursement lifted

PESHAWAR—The government of NWFP has issued formal notification of lifting of ban on the disbursement of Zakat funds. According to details, the caretaker set up in the provinces had imposed ban on every kind of disbursement of Zakat amount till the formation of the new government and appointment of the new Zakat Chairman. However, after the formation of new government and appointment of new ministries, the provincial government has lifted this ban. Secretary Zakat and Usher has also prepared a summary plan in this connection. However, transfer of the said secretary has halted the process.
