Moderate quake jolts Tokyo

TOKYO—A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 shook eastern Japan on Friday but there was no threat of tsunami tidal waves, the Meteorological Agency said.
The tremor, which occurred at 7:02 pm (1002 GMT), was strong enough to rattle some buildings in the capital. Its focus was located some 60 kilometers (40 miles) north of Tokyo, the agency said. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to property.—Agencies
