ANF seizes 13 KG heroin, accused held

PESHAWAR—The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) had seized 13 kilogram heroin of fine quality at Peshawar Airport and arrested the accused on the spot. A spokesman of ANF told newsmen by phone that seizure was made through a prior information received by the ANF authorities that huge quantity of heroin would be smuggled out abroad. To frustrate the attempt, the ANF team was alerted at the Airport. Meanwhile, a suspected passenger Ghulam Kabir resident of Rawalpindi appeared in the airport and was asked to search his suitcase. On search,13 kg heroin of fine quality were recovered. According to ANF spokesman the accused was going to Nigeria. The value of the heroin in international market is stated to be Rs.100 million, he added. ANF have registered the case and started further investigation.
