Mauritian foreign secretary calls on Riaz

ISLAMABAD—Anand P. Neewoor, Mauritian Foreign Secretary called on Foreign Secretary, Riaz Mohammad Khan on Thursday.
The Mauritian Foreign Secretary is leading a delegation to the 7th Round of Pak- Mauritius Joint Working Group on Promotion of Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation from 2-4 April, 2008.
The two Foreign Secretaries held in-depth discussions covering all facets of existing bilateral relations including political, commercial and cultural ties.
The two sides expressed satisfaction over the growing bilateral ties, especially in the field of trade and investment.
The Mauritian Foreign Secretary appreciated Pakistan's decision to construct a Urdu House in Mauritius for promotion of Urdu language.
He also welcomed private sector interest in the construction of Muhammad Ali Jinnah Complex in Mauritius in memory of the founding father of Pakistan, for which modalities are currently being discussed.
Neewoor expressed the hope that the visit of Mauritian Prime Minister to Pakistan could take place latter this year. The Foreign Secretary welcomed the Mauritian Foreign Secretary's suggestion and assured that a response in this regard shall be sent in due course.
Pakistan's Foreign Secretary congratulated Neewoor on his elevation to the rank of "Grand Officer of the Order of Star and Keys of the Indian Ocean" recently announced by the Mauritian Government.
The Foreign Secretary also hosted a lunch in honour of the visiting delegation.
