Zardari placates MQM to join Sindh Govt

KARACHI—Co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Asif Ali Zardari, who arrived here later on Wednesday reached Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Headquarter (Nine Zero) amid tight security to meet the senior leadership of MQM.
Asif Ali Zardari was accompanied by Federal Minister for Information, Sherry Rehman, Qaim Ali Shah, N.D. Khan, Nabil Gabol, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Nafees Siddiqui, Fauzia Wahab, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Murad Ali Shah and Waqar Mirza.
Upon Zardari’s arrival here at Nine Zero, the MQM leaders Dr. Farooq Sattar, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Babar Ghauri, Adil Siddiqui, Anwar Alam, Khush Bakht Shujaat accorded warm welcome to him and other PPP leaders. The meeting between PPP and MQM leaders will start with Fateha of the slain PPP chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto. Before, arriving at Nine Zero, Asif Ali Zardari visited Yasinabad graveyard to offer fateha for the martyrs of MQM members and workers.
Nominee of Pakistan Peoples Party for the post of Sindh chief minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah Tuesday paid rich tribute to PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and late Ms. Benazir Bhutto.
He said their sacrifices will remain enshrined in golden words in history of South Asia for strengthening democracy as well as for providing rights to the down trodden people in the country. He was addressing a PPP Convention of workers of Larkana and Kamber-Shahdadkot here. PPP leader said a district committee under the chairmanship of party’s District President will be formed and MPAs, MNAs, General Secretary and other prominent figures will be included in the body in order to solve the problems of the people including transfer and posting of officers.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah advised the officers working in different departments to change their attitudes and solve the problems of the people at their doorsteps without any discrimination. He said PPP won the election throughout the country by a majority and the people of Sindh are confident that PPP government will work according the wishes of the people and the basic facilities will be ensured at all cost.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah was warmly welcomed and presented an Ajrak and Sindhi Topi (cap). President PPP Larkana, Mohammad Ayaz Soomro welcomed Syed Qaim Ali Shah and pointed out the problems of workers of PPP in the district. He also highlighted the struggle of PPP workers during the last 11 to 12 years, when the PPP was in opposition in the parlialent.
Ayaz Soomro also informed the workers convention that after taking oath as chief minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah will spare 2 days in every month to attend to and solve their problems. He also called for upgradation of CMC to a medical university and Benazir Bhutto institution and other mega projects may also he established in Larkana District.
