Crime rate on rise in Capital

ISLAMABAD—Thirty persons have been murdered, thirty-two killed in traffic accident while seven others kidnapped for ransom in maiden three months of current year in Capital. More than 150 vehicles and motorbikes have been stolen.
According to police record majority of the cases were filed at Police station of Shahzad town, Kohsar and Koral, while only 3 cases were filed at police station Golra.
Only 21 cases were filed in the first three months of the last year 2007. Majority of the traffic incidents cases were reported at Police station Shahzad town and Koral, while 4 incidents of traffic accident were reported at Police station Tarnool. Police station Shalimar reported 40 cases of stolen vehicle, Police station Shalimar reported 36 cases while Police station Tarnool reported only 25 cases of vehicle stolen.
Anti car lifting cell of Federal government has claimed arresting 40 persons of 10 gangs and recovered 25 vehicles from them.
