Defence to be
made impregnable: Mukhtar

ISLAMABAD—Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar on Tuesday said
that the Armed Forces of the country would be strengthened, in terms of
resources and equipment, so as to make the country’s defence
impregnable.
Talking to newsmen in Ministry of Defence after assuming charge of the
ministry, he spelled out priorities of his Government stating that the
defence of the country would be strengthened as it has been confronting
enormous internal and external challenges.
Earlier, the Minister held introductory meeting with the senior officers
of the Ministry. Secretary Defence Kamran Rasool introduced the officers
and briefed the Minister about the role and functions of the Ministry
and its allied organizations.
The Minister said they would work as a team to achieve the goals and
objectives of the Ministry.
The briefing was also attended by Major General Mir Haider Ali Khan,
Additional Secretary-I, Rear Admiral Tanveer Faiz, Additional
Secretary-III and all joint and Deputy Secretaries of the Ministry.
Federal Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, also
visited Ministry of Defence Production and assumed the charge of office. |
