 Police finalizes plan to address traffic problems

ISLAMABAD—The Traffic Police Rawalpindi has finalized a plan to streamline the entering of trucks in Ganj Mandi area and parking of rickshaws at Rose Cinema in front of the Police Station City.
A delegation of traders led by Chaudhary Ishaq Chaudhary, Aslam Khan and Sheikh Shahbaz met Chief Traffic Officer SSP Sabir Ahmed in his office on the other day and gave their suggestions regarding rising traffic problems in Ganj Mandi. In the lights of recommendations from traders delegation, Chief Traffic Officer SSP Sabir Ahmed has directed the staff of the Traffic Police to depute special squad to check the entering of trucks in night from Dhok Heso.
He also directed the staff to allow only limited number of trucks to enter at the same time in the jurisdiction of the city aiming to avoid traffic problems. Chief Traffic Officer SSP Sabir Ahmed has also underlined that besides some special points, parking would not be allowed at Ganj Mandi Road and the patrolling officers of No-Parking Implement Force would continue to patrol the area.
The Motorcycle rickshaws would be parked in limited numbers at Rose Cinema in front of the Police Station City by erecting barriers with the cooperation of traders community, he added. The traders’ representatives on the occasion have expressed their gratitude over the steps taken by the traffic police to reduce traffic problems and assured their full cooperation in this regard. Chief Traffic Officer SSP Sabir Ahmed has emphasized that with the cooperation of traders, the traffic problems can be solved in the city to the great extent.—Online
