probe begins against ANF official

ISLAMABAD—A Committee set by the Interior Adviser, Rehman A. Malik has
started its investigation about the incident in which ANF personnel
rammed into a house and harassed the participants of a private dinner
party.
The committee will submit its report to the Interior ministry within
seven days. Earlier, President Pervez Musharraf has also taken serious
notice against the anti-Narcotics armed personnel who rammed into a
house in the Federal Capital amid a dinner ceremony and harassed its
participants. While on the other hand Interior Adviser, Rehman A. Malik
has also order the inquiry and sought report of the incident.
According to details, Barrister Rafey Alam has appealed to the President
Pervez Musharraf, DG Anti Narcotics Force, Secretary Narcotics,
Secretary Interior, Chairman International Human Rights Commission,
Chairman Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Speaker National Assembly,
Dr. Fahmida Mirza, Chairman Senate and Chief of the Army Staff that
armed personnel of the anti-narcotics force have rammed into a house in
Sector F-6 Islamabad and harassed the both male and female participants
of dinner ceremony including ambassadors of different countries.
They pointed the guns at the horrified guests and at the various ladies
present at the function. In a startling disregard to the Islamic norms
and pushed and pulled the young girls. They also deprived guests from
their cell phones and cash amount.
He further stated that they did not give any reason whatsoever and
continued to terrorize the guests and conducted body searches of women
without female constables. He said that no legal notice or proceedings
were recorded at the local police or by the ANF. He hoped that the
competent authority must investigate into the matter and bring the
culprits to the book so that the highhandedness of these agencies are
curtailed.
