Premier apologizes to Justice Ramday

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has apologized from
deposed Supreme Court judge Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday over the
incident happened on Saturday when his house was ransacked. In a
telephonic contact on Sunday, the Prime Minister assured deposed SC
judge that he would take stern action against the responsible persons
after the investigation.
“ You are our judge and we respect you from the heart,” he opined. It is
pertinent to note that the house of deposed SC Judge Justice
Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday was ransacked on Saturday and his valuable
belongings were thrown out from his house. The house was allotted to
Justice Mousa Leghari. PM directed the authorities to return his
belongings to his house and the investigation of the incident at the
earliest.
Rehman Malik advisor to prime minister on interior has said legal action
will be initiated against those found involved in the incident of
throwing out belongings of deposed justice of supreme court Khalil ur
Rehman Ramday from his residence.
He was talking to BBC here Sunday, He told the preliminary investigation
report will be submitted to prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. He
announced the concerned authorities would be asked to take action even
against the registrar of the Supreme Court if he was found involved in
this incident.
Rehman Malik said deposed justice Khalil ur Rehman Ramday was living in
one part of house No 15 in judges colony while the second part of this
residence was under the use of another judge. Additional Deputy
Commissioner Islamabad had summoned deputy and assistant registrars of
supreme court, incharge judges colony and police personnel deployed in
judges colony to record their statements in this regard, he pointed out.
It may be recalled only servant of the deposed judge was present in the
residence when SC administration took this action. Prime Minister Yusuf
Raza Gilani while taking serious notice of the incident had ordered
inquiry into the matter. The lawyers representatives had filed
application in the respective police station for registration of case
against registrar of supreme court and other persons.
Family sources of a deposed judge who is living in judges colony told
BBC that registrar and 4 members of staff entered into the residence of
justice Khalil ur Rehman and threatened the servant Noor Muhammad that
he should let them do their job and not to interfere otherwise case
under terrorism act would be registered against him, Later they threw
out the household articles of Justice Khalil ur Rehman. |
