Parliament to
decide working with Presidency: Zardari
Bureau Report
LAHORE—PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said Parliament and elected
government have to determine the working relationship with Aiwan-e-Sadr.
“It is upto parliament and elected government to determine working
relationship with Aiwan-e-Sadr. We are political policy makers and our
job is to formulate political policies”, he said this while addressing a
joint press conference at the residence of PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif
in Jati Umra at Raiwind Sunday.
He told it could not be decided so far to include MQM in federal
cabinet. Such decision would be taken in consultation with Mian Nawaz
Sharif, he added. Replying to a question he said as far as reservations
were concerned, these existed among the families, brothers and
relatives. Reservations always remain in the politics. But we have to
work together for the sake of country and nation”, he stressed.
Police and judiciary are the two major resources meant for providing
justice, he held. “Our government will place special focus on the
reforms in police and judiciary as we want to change the system rather
than faces”, he remarked. “I want to say our relations with Mian Nawaz
Sharif will run for 3 to 4 coming generations. It is essential factor in
strengthening relations that one should remain true in practicing what
he says. I wished I would visit graves of elders of Mian Nawaz Sharif
and offer Fateha for them so that our coming generations should uphold
these traditions”, he maintained.
Responding to a question he said judiciary crisis was not so large what
it was being portrayed. “We are talking of changing the system and the
nations is seeing we have started our journey to this direction slowly.
“We will take revenge of shahadat of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by changing
the system. We are moving ahead with the slogan of Mohtarma Benazir
Bhutto that democracy was the best revenge”, he underlined.
About vacation of Justice Khalil ur Rehman Ramday residence, he said
some one had tried to commit mischief to sabotage our efforts but the
Prime Minister had taken serious notice of this incident and apologized
for it. It is historical event that not only the prime minister took a
serious notice but also regretted for it, he added. To another question
he said Benazir Bhutto had written a letter to President Musharraf
whereby she had voiced her fears and nominated some persons by declaring
them a threat for her. “We will make public these names at opportune
time. We will send application to UN requesting it to hold investigation
into assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Our legal experts are working out
draft letter in this respect, he told.
The murder of Benazir Bhutto was conspiracy to dismember Pakistan and
this conspiracy is still continuing, he underscored. I still stand by
this stance. Had I known who were these conspirators I would have never
called UN, he added. Replying to a question he said first woman speaker
of Muslim world belongs to Sindh and there can be no more great honor
than this for Sindh. |
