Lahore senior citizens stage walk for protection of rights

ISLAMABAD—The senior citizens staged a walk in Lahore which was attended by a large number of senior citizens persons belonging to different sectors, aimed at drawing the attention of the government and the society towards the need for protection of their rights.
Lawyers, doctors, retired military persons, industrialists and others attended the walk, which started from the Press club under the aegis of Senior Citizens Foundation. The participants of the walk demanded protection of their rights for getting the seniors their rightful place in the society.
They said that the developments in every sectors of this country was the result of the seniors’ devotion to services and it was the moral duty of the society and the government to honour the senior citizens by addressing their problems through increased medical, traveling and residential facilities besides enhancing the monthly stipends and pensions.—Agencies
