New Cabinet to take oath on 31st
Islamabad—Raja Parvez Ashraf, central leader of PPP, underlined new
cabinet would take oath on Monday. He said this while talking to media
on Saturday in front of Parliament, adding, “40 members would be
included in new cabinet. After transition of power, all decisions would
be taken with consultation of all political parties while in first step,
20 to 24 ministers would take oath”
PPP would go together with all political parties. Peace, prosperity and
welfare of masses would be on top priority, he stressed. Co-chairperson
PPP, Asif Ali Zardari has given formal approval for new cabinet and
President Parvez Musharraf would administer oath on Monday, he added.
Replying to a question, Raja Parvez Ashraf underlined that new cabinet
would be shorter than past cabinet, adding, we would not demand for
resignation of president Musharraf but we should follow constitution and
it is clearly mentioned that constitution should be supreme. Central
leader of PPP, Raja Parvez Ashraf further said, new government would
have to face many challenges in beginning but PPP would take decisions
in accordance with people wishes.
Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sherry Rehman has
said that the summary for oath of new Federal Cabinet has been sent to
President house officially on Saturday. The Federal Cabinet would be
formed in two or three phases while national consensus is needed in the
country, she said this while talking to media men here at Parliament
house.
The leaders of PPP and coalition Parties after consultations have
finalized portfolio of new Federal Cabinet, she said, adding that,
Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari has also approved the final names of
new Cabinet which has been sent to President House on Saturday. The
ministries were distributed among coalition parties in accordance with
power sharing formula, Sherry pointed out. Answering to a question, she
said that there was no delay from Political Parties and President house
regarding oath taking ceremony of Federal Cabinet.
She vowed to continue mission of late Former Prime Minister Benazir
Bhutto which would be completed by PPP and its coalition Parties
jointly. She said that the Parliament would redress the problems being
faced by citizens of the country on priority basis.
Initially, 22 to 24-member cabinet would take oath that would be
expanded in two or three stages later, she said. The focus of new
Government is to develop the country, she said.
President Pervez Musharraf will administer oath to the new federal
cabinet Monday afternoon at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, an official source
said.The summary for the new cabinet has been received at the President
House from the Prime Minister Secretariat, following which the
Aiwan-e-Sadr announced to hold the ceremony on Monday (March 31).
