New Govt to work without US pressure: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD—Terming the United States a key ally, Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the new government wants sustainable and permanent relations with US.
Talking to media men here on Saturday in the Parliament House, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that there would be no pressure from the United States on new government and all the decisions would be taken in accordance with the expectations of the people of Pakistan. Commenting on war on terror, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PPP is against the menace of terrorism whether it is in Pakistan or other parts of the world, adding that scourge would be eliminated at all costs. Answering a question regarding the visits of US Officials, the senior PPP leader said that the US delegation have been informed regarding the formation of new government and mode of the people of Pakistan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi while responding to another question said that he is the candidate for the post of Foreign Minister but the final decision would be taken by the party leaders. Answering a question regarding Dr. Qadeer Khan, the veteran politician said that the decision regarding him would be taken when time comes.
